1) National Security Agency - Агентство (Управление) национальной безопасности США, АНБсоздано 4 ноября 1952 г. по директиве президента Гарри Трумена, занимается разведывательной деятельностью, разработкой, производством и эксплуатацией средств криптографической защиты, перехватом сообщений, ведёт исследования в области суперкомпьютеров и других технологий. Отвечает также за безопасность всех правительственных компьютерных систем и линий связи. Штат - 35 тыс. сотрудников, бюджет - более 5 млрд. долл. Штаб-квартира расположена в Форт-Миде (шт. Мэриленд) (Fort Meade, Maryland, между Вашингтоном и Балтимором).
